I will always try to walk hand-in-hand with the patient in tackling the illness --giving straight forward information and honest answers, so that the patient can choose the treatment plan that best suits them. If I am asked to decide that plan for the patient, my overriding philosophy is, "what would I do if this were my own family member?" I have been in Puyallup since 1999, living close to where I serve the community in providing surgical care. I have tried to bring about advanced procedures and techniques (minimally invasive: robotic surgery) so that our citizens do not have to travel out of our great town to receive them. Puyallup is a great place to live and raise a family, and I am honored to be serving the great people of Puyallup.

Dr. King performs the full spectrum of general surgical procedures., His highest volume procedures are cholecystectomies and hernia repairs, thyroidectomies and parathyroidectomies, bowel resections and endoscopies. He has developed a hernia repair technique which is tension-free, practically sutureless, with no postoperative lifting restrictions, so allowing nearly immediate return to normal activities and work. He liberally employs minimally invasive technologies for his abdominal surgeries and is obsessively attentive to cosmetics, especially for neck and breast procedures. He has performed thousands of colonoscopies with an extremely low complication rate.

Dr. King and his wife are long-term residents of Puyallup where they raised their three now adult sons. They are active in their church and community and enjoy regularly serving short and intermediate term medical missions.

Having first moved to Puyallup with my parents in 1978, I have a strong bond with the town and the hospital - my father is a retired Family Practitioner affiliated with Good Samaritan Hospital. I have firm commitment to providing excellent tailored surgical care to my patients. My goal is to quickly transition each patient from their preoperative condition to a post-operative condition that allows for their maximum physical improvement.
